I do know that there are a few student missing some notes and I need to get these powerpoints accessible to them.  Here they are:

So, I know I have been lacking in the blogging category.  At least the starters are staying up-to-date.  :)

I think what is going to end up happening is that I am only going to put up the most difficult to make up, the most important to make up and the most commonly missed.  I just don't seem to have enough time to put up every little thing.

Sorry - let me know if there are any you want up here in particular.

Adaptations

Page 10

This is the worksheet and this is the powerpoint.

Instructions for the worksheet
The first section is a definition.  Copy it over from the powerpoint.

The next section is a chart.
In the first column you put the name of the animal.
The second column you need to list the adaptations - the first three are identified for you; the fourth you must identify on your own.
The third column is for your predictions.  For each adaptation you need to make a guess as to why this animal has it (it need not be correct - just plausible).

The bottom section is for the other adaptations listed.  Write down each adaptation and a reason why it would be beneficial.

The back has its own directions.  There are pictures on the powerpoint if you are unsure what each environment is.

Genetic Disorders Punnet Squares

This one a lot like page 8.  If you understand it, you should have no trouble following the directions to complete this worksheet.

Hair Genetics

Page 8

Make sure you follow all the directions on this page!  These are the things I will be looking for -

1.  The parents' genes should be set up appropriately along the top and down the left side.

2. The inside of the square should be filled in with the correct genes.

3. Calculate the percentages of the brown & red hair phenotypes.

Notes: Inherited & Acquired Traits

Page 6

Again, get the page from me.

On the front, you need the definition and example from the powerpoint.

On the back, you should have 9 acquired traits and 9 inherited traits listed.  If you were absent, just come up with your own.

Science Fair Powerpoint

We are starting our science fair powerpoints!  Aren't you glad you don't have to do a poster?  Whew.  What a relief!

We will be in the computer lab for the next week and half getting ready to present our results.  Work hard and be prepared because we start presenting them beginning of February!

p.s. - sorry I have posted for a while.  Christmas Break and the End of 2nd Quarter were crazy. :)
