Sorting of Earth Materials
We've looked at the layers of the Earth but there are more ways that nature layers things. We've layers liquids by density. Today we learned about how things sort by particle size. Here's an example:

RAFT
Role: The identity you take on as the writer (ex: Santa Claus)
Audience: Who you are writing to (ex: Buddy the Elf)
Format: What form your writing will take (ex: a Letter)
Topic: What you are writing about (ex: How to find his Dad)
Today's RAFT needed to include the 4 layers of the Earth in its Topic. The writing assignment needed to include the states of matter of the layers (solid, liquid, gas), temperature, pressure, density and if you like you can also include what each layer is made of.

Everlasting Gobstopper?
Is a Gobstopper really "everlasting?"
We have started looking into DIFFUSION by watching the particles of a gobstopper diffuse in water. We tested both cold and hot water.
Note for parents: We answered the questions in class on 11/22.
